D&D Adventurers League @ The Geek Room

D&D Adventurers League is coming to THE GEEK ROOM on Wednesday January 16th, 2019.  Here is some basic info if you are interested in joining us.

Game Time/Place:

Weekly on Wednesday Evenings from 6 pm – 9 pm starting January 16th 2019
The Geek Room Hobbies & Games, 1215 S. 180th St, Omaha NE 68130
402-933-6080

This session is intended to be an ongoing campaign.  The length of the campaign will depend on how quickly the party is moving through the story but should typically be around 8 weeks.  We’d like to have the same people playing every week.  If you are unable to attend weekly we are looking to add another session very soon, most likely on a weekend day, that will be more episodic and allow for folks to jump in and out of the game at will.

Player Information:

Up To 7 players. Ages 16+. All characters will begin at  1st level.  No prior game experience necessary (new players are welcome).

Adventurer’s League games are limited by Wizards of the Coast to a maximum of 7 players.   Players will be seated on a first come first serve basis on the 16th.  If there are others who also wish to play beyond the 7 maximum we are currently looking at securing a second DM for another session at an alternate time.

Currently we are restricting play for this session to players 16 years of age and up, due to Wizards of the Coast rules regarding children participating in D&D organized play.  We are in the process of organizing a kids session for players ages 10-16 that will be held at a different time and more information will be sent to those of you who expressed interest in joining with younger players.  These extra steps on the part of Wizards of the Coast and ourselves is to ensure that kids who want to play are able to do so in a safe, fun, and enriching way.

Wizards Play Network:

Since this is an official organized play event your participation will be tracked by Wizards of the Coast as part of their Wizards Play Network(WPN). You will need a WPN DCI number to play.  If you already have a DCI number please be sure to bring it with you on the 16th.  If you do not already have one that’s okay.  They are completely free and we will provide you with a temporary number and instructions on how to activate it when you arrive. This will not only help you to keep track of your own progress, but also help The Geek Room to expand its offerings of organized D&D and Magic the Gathering tournaments and events.

What To Bring:

Really you don’t have to bring anything if you don’t want to.  But paper, a pen or pencil, and your own set of polyhedral dice would make things much easier for you and your Dungeon Master.  Anything else you might want to bring such as a character sketch or miniature of your character is completely at your discretion but are in no way necessary.  Speaking of characters…

Characters:

This campaign will start off at 1st level.  You may bring your own 1st level character provided that it is of a race/class combination from the Dungeons & Dragons Players Handbook ONLY.  No expansion, supplemental, or homebrew classes/races will be allowed at this time.  Any character brought in will be reviewed by the DM and it is their discretion whether or not to allow it.  If you don’t already have your own character, or have never played the game before don’t worry there will be pre-generated characters available for you to select from when the game session begins.

 Code of Conduct:

Before the game begins your DM will go over the Wizards Play Network Code of Conduct and The Geek Room Anti-Harassment Policy with you.  This is to ensure that everyone is on the same page regarding conduct and to ensure that everyone has a pleasant and enjoyable time.

If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us at the store anytime during normal business hours and Melissa or myself will do our best to answer any questions you might have.
